I'm not saying that it isn't possible but if done right you'd hydrolock the cylinder before you suffered knock/pre-ignition. I have never seen a motor suffer from pre-ignition because of NO2. With NO2 because it goes in so cold it counters pre-ignition and allows you to add even more oxygen into the combustion chamber of a turbo'd engine at max boost. With a turbo you will reach the limit of how much oxygen you can cram into the combustion chamber before detonation rears its ugly head. NO2 has a very big advantage over the turbo however because it is its own intercooler. They both exist for the same reason, to get more oxygen into the combustion chamber. A turbo is like having NO2 ALL THE TIME, not just when you hit the button. An understanding of NO2 will truly make you appreciate your turbo for what it is. You want to see some folks running Nitrous then go watch motorcycle dragracing, they ALL run NO2. Is that why they call it "Laughing Gas"? My introduction to Nitrous was from a friend of mine who races dragbikes.
